Awesome for my move!

I just used Budget Truck Rental for my move across state, and it was fantastic! The 26 foot moving truck was perfect, had so much space. The online booking was super easy, and picking up the truck felt really quick, no fuss at all. I added the roadside assistance just in case, but didn't need it. Everything worked out great, and I will totally use them again for any future moves. Definitely telling my friends to check them out!

Great value for a big move

I was looking for the cheapest option to move a 3-bedroom house, and Budget Truck Rental came through. I got a one way rental for a 26 foot moving truck. I spent a good amount of time comparing prices with U-Haul and Penske, and Budget had the best deal for my dates. I made sure to check for any first-time renter discounts, but ended up using a seasonal moving offer instead. The truck was a good size for everything we had, and didn't have any surprise charges when I returned it. Felt like I got good value for the money.

Decent rental, a few hitches

I rented a 12 foot moving truck for a small apartment move. The price was competitive, especially with the AARP discount I used, which was a nice saving. The truck itself was clean and drove well enough for the distance. My main issue was the pick-up location; it was a bit out of the way and the staff seemed a little overwhelmed, so I had to wait longer than expected to get the keys. Drop-off at the new location was much faster, which was a plus. Overall, I got what I needed for the move, but the initial wait was a bit frustrating.

Good truck for moving

I rented a 16 foot moving truck for a local move last weekend. The process online was pretty straightforward. Picking up the truck was quick, and it ran fine for the whole day. Dropping it off after hours was easy too. Overall, it was a smooth experience and got the job done.

Hey guys, trying to book a truck for next month. Does Budget usually do any deals for one-way rentals, like cross-state moves?

F Faith E. 1 month ago
Yeah, they totally do! I got a pretty sweet discount on a one-way move from Ohio to Florida last year. Just check their 'deals' section on the site, usually has something.

I think they call them 'one-way moving deals' or 'long distance moving deals'. Can't stack it with other coupons though, just FYI.

Does Budget charge by the mile or is it unlimited miles for local rentals? Trying to figure out my budget for a 12-foot truck.

R Rachel Walsh 1 month ago
They definitely charge by the mile for local rentals. Make sure to factor that in when you're getting a quote. It adds up quick if you're making multiple trips.

I think one-way rentals often have a set mileage allowance, but local moves usually have a per-mile charge on top of the daily rate. Just clarify when you book.

Is there a trick to getting like a better discount? I'm AARP and a student, trying to move in August. Can I combine those?

N Noor Silva 1 month ago
Nope, no stacking discounts unfortunately. You gotta pick one. AARP is usually pretty good, like 20% off from what I remember.

S Shane Osei 4 weeks ago
Yeah, they explicitly say you can't combine offers. Check which one gives you the bigger discount for your specific rental. Sometimes one is better for mileage, another for the base rate.

Can I just rock up and pick up a truck if I decide last minute or do I need to reserve like way in advance? Specifically eyeing a 16-footer for a local move next weekend.

N Noor 1 month ago
Definitely reserve. Especially for a 16-footer and on a weekend. They get booked up fast. You might get lucky with a smaller cargo van walk-in, but a truck, nah.

Yeah, I'd reserve. Plus, sometimes you can snag a midweek discount if your move is flexible. Walk-ins usually pay more anyway, if they even have anything available.

planning a move for early July. How's Budget compare to U-Haul reliability-wise for a longer distance trip? Don't want to break down halfway.

T Tara 4 weeks ago
I used Budget for a 1000-mile move a few years back and had zero issues. The truck was pretty new and drove fine. I've heard mixed things about U-Haul lately, so Budget might be the safer bet.

Honestly, it's probably hit or miss with any of them. Both have 24/7 roadside assistance though, so you wouldn't be totally stranded. My cousin had a Budget truck break down once, but they sent a tow pretty quick.
